Community Living Algoma is dedicated to the full inclusion and citizenship of people with intellectual disabilities. Over its 60 year history, the charitable not-for-profit organization has provided a wide range of supports and services to individuals and their families living in the Sault Ste. Marie area and Algoma District.
Community Living Algoma’s primary focus is to make positive differences in the lives of the people we support by assisting people to achieve their personal goals and ensure organizational outcomes are achieved. Community Living Algoma is currently searching for the ideal experienced candidates who are innovative, visionary and committed to the people we serve
To support people with an intellectual disability to achieve their personal goals. To support, within a team environment, people with an intellectual disability to achieve their personal goals, facilitate relationships, skills and social roles, which promote the person’s effective participation in the typical and valued life of the community. Support people in the participation of community based social, leisure and recreational activities of their choice. Teams include but are not limited to, the person receiving support, their family, friends, community support and staff support.
Diploma in Human Services with two years direct support experience in a community-based setting, or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, valid first aid and health requirements as outlined in the Social Inclusion Act and CLA Policies and Procedures. A valid driver’s license and maintenance of an acceptable driving record is an asset. Bilingual French/English is also considered an asset.
