Position overview

Truck Wash Technologies Inc. designs and builds custom automated large vehicle wash equipment. Located in Sault Ste. Marie, the company has been pioneering new concepts and technologies that have led to the development of a unique product for the large commercial vehicle industry. The company is currently looking to hire a versatile individual with welding and/or millwright experience .The company business model is project based that includes design, build, install, commission and then ongoing technical support where a single project can be 4 to 6 months from start to finish thus initially the position would be a 2 to 3 month contract.


  • Machine building and assembly in shop
    • Analyze drawings to plan assembly procedures
    • Position and align components for assembly, manually or with hoist
    • Fasten and install piping, fixtures both mechanical and electrical components
    • Electrical wiring of machine
    • Fit, trim, or clean parts or components, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Lay out, drill, tap, and cuts parts for assembly.
    • Groove and thread pipe for subassemblies
    • Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic panels
  • Field installation of equipment
    • Unloading equipment on site
    • Layout equipment according to drawings
    • Drill, anchor equipment in place
    • Use laser levels and other methods to align and position critical equipment
    • Groove and assemble field piping
    • Fit, cut and glue PVC field piping
    • Install field pneumatic tubing
    • Assist in commissioning of equipment and troubleshooting issues that arise
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities
    • Receive equipment and fabrications
    • Resolve any issues and solve problems that arise during machine build and field installation
    • Source components
    • Update or modify drawings using CAD
    • Define project tasks and resource requirements
    • Prepare equipment for shipping

Job requirements

  • Welding and/or millwright experience. Certification an asset
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD) and asset
  • Work experience in automation and machine building an asset
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in work environment and priorities
  • Good communication, leadership, problem solving and analytic skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability and desire to work with hands
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to understand and read technical drawings
  • Ability to perform under stress of deadlines
  • Occasional travel is required for field installations
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport with no restrictions to travel outside of Canada if required
  • Working at heights, forklift, man lift certification
