In Your Eyes Projects is seeking a Community Outreach Assistant (summer student position) to join our team as we prepare for our third season of presenting provocative theatre.
This position provides a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in the evolution of a new theatre company and stimulate positive attitudes towards the arts in Sault Ste. Marie.
The COA will play a critical role supporting a small and busy team across six weeks. There will be three primary areas of focus in the position: a) promoting the new season, creating a presence in the community and working with the arts community through partner projects, b) researching opportunities for fundraising and business partnerships and c) providing production support for the 2017-2018 theatre season
Responsibilities: Promotion and Community Partner programming - Working with community partners (assisting with youth workshops and related projects) - Distribution of promotional materials and creating awareness
Research and Development
- Researching fundraising opportunities, grants and business partnerships
- Assisting with planning events, research opportunities for audience development and youth involvement
Production Support: - Scheduling auditions and rehearsals - Attending initial production meetings and taking minutes - Ongoing support as needed
Qualifications: - Is pursuing or has interest in pursuing studies in business, arts, event management or related field - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Good time management with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, and prioritize with minimal direction - Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
